Crispy Air Fryer Tofu
Ingredients
- 444 g High Protein Extra Firm Tofu (Trader Joe’s)
- Avocado Oil Spray
Egg Mixture:
- 45 ml Plant Protein Milk (Good Karma)
- 1 Brown Egg (Vital Farms)
- 1 tsp White Vinegar
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
Flour Mixture:
- 20 g All Purpose Flour (Bob’s Red Mill)
- 20 g Unflavored Protein Powder (Quest Baking)
- ½ tbsp Tapioca Flour (Bob’s Red Mill)
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- ½ tsp Onion & Garlic Powder
- Salt & Pepper (to taste)
Crumbs:
- 65 g Rice Crumbs (Trader Joe’s)
Instructions
- Rip tofu into small pieces and place in a bowl.444 g (15 oz) High Protein Extra Firm Tofu
- In another bowl, whisk together egg mixture.45 ml (3 tbsp) Plant Protein Milk, 1 Brown Egg, 1 tsp White Vinegar, 1 tsp Baking Powder
- In a third bowl, mix together the flour ingredients.20 g (2.5 tbsp) All Purpose Flour, 20 g (2.5 tbsp) Unflavored Protein Powder, 1/2 tbsp Tapioca Flour, 1 tsp Smoked Paprika, 1/2 tsp Onion & Garlic Powder, Salt & Pepper
- Finally, in a fourth bowl, add in the rice crumbs.65 g (6.5 tbsp) Rice Crumbs
- Use one hand and coat each tofu chunk into the flour. Use another hand and dip into the eggs. Then use the dry hand to dip into the crumbs.
- Add to air fryer basket. Repeat for all & spray with avocado oil.Avocado Oil Spray
- Air fry at 400° for 15-18 mins.
- Add to rice bowls, wraps, tofu “chicken” and waffles. The options are endless!
