Lemon Ricotta Stuffed Hawaiian Roll French Toast
Ingredients
Filling:
- 124 g Low Fat Ricotta (H-E-B)
- 28 g Nonfat Greek Yogurt (Siggi’s)
- 15 g Unflavored Whey Casein Protein Powder (Naked Nutrition)
- 16 g Zero Calorie Sweetener (H-E-B)
- 1 tsp Lemon Zest
- ½ Lemon (juiced)
French Toast:
- 6 Hawaiian Rolls (Better Brand)
- 1 Large Brown Egg (Vital Farms)
- 60 ml Unsweetened Protein Plant Milk (Good Karma)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Cooking:
- 7 g Salted Butter (Vital Farms)
To Serve:
- Powdered Sugar
- 30 ml Sugar Free Syrup (Mrs Butterworths)
Instructions
Filling:
- Add all your ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.124 g (0.5 cups) Low Fat Ricotta, 28 g (2 tbsp) Nonfat Greek Yogurt, 15 g (1.5 tbsp) Unflavored Whey Casein Protein Powder, 16 g (4 tsp) Zero Calorie Sweetener, 1 tsp Lemon Zest, 1/2 Lemon
- Then grab each Hawaiian roll and use a knife to cut a slit in the middle of each. You don’t want to cut through and through but cut a pocket in the middle for the filling.6 Hawaiian Rolls
- Add your filling to a piping bag or injector and fill each roll. You’ll have plenty left over so keep those as a dip on the side!
- Lay them all out onto a tray and add to your freezer to let them set for 10 minutes.
French Toast:
- Meanwhile, in a bowl, whisk together your egg, milk, and vanilla.1 Large Brown Egg, 60 ml (0.25 cups) Unsweetened Protein Plant Milk, 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Once your rolls have set, dip each into your French toast mixture but don’t over soak.
- Coat a pan with your butter and heat on medium heat. Then add your French toast rolls and let them cook until golden brown on all sides. Repeat until all are cooked.7 g (0.5 tbsp) Salted Butter
To Serve:
